Izzad, based on your responses, the brightest color in your aura is

Red

Contrary to popular myth, auras are actually multi-colored energy fields that can be divided into seven primary layers. Having Red as your brightest color means that the first, or Etheric, layer of your aura is the most vibrant. The Etheric layer is the physical component of your aura, and its vibrancy provides you with exceptional physical health. You have great vitality and energy, and your deep connection to your body provides the optimal vehicle for your spirit to express itself.

Your aura impacts all aspects of your life. For instance, having a bright Etheric layer means you have a healthy connection to your body. This means that you may enjoy a job that has a physical component requiring some degree of strength, or at least a hobby or pastime that allows you to express yourself physically. It’s also probably very rare that you miss work or other obligations due to physical ailments or a lack of energy.

In your love life, you’re physically expressive. You probably show your affection most often through touch, and you likely enjoy an intense physical connection with your partner. You express yourself fully to those you love, particularly your romantic partner.

The brightness of your Etheric layer has a deep impact on your overall well being, in that you have a great relationship with your body. You feel strong and healthy, and this leads you to feel good about your own physicality. Good physical health allows you to freely express your mind and spirit as well as connect with others, and because of this you have advanced knowledge and insight.

The Seven Layers of Your Aura
Aura Layer Aura Color

Each layer of your aura radiates a different color. The brighter the light emanating from each layer, the healthier your aura, the better you’ll feel in mind, body, and spirit. Following is your personalized Aura Reading, explaining how healthy each layer of your aura is. We’ll look at each layer of your aura in sequence, from the first or innermost layer, to the seventh or outermost layer. For layers that aren’t bright, try the corresponding Take Actions to enhance and expand your aura.

The First, or Etheric Layer, is Red
The Etheric layer of your aura is bright. Vitality emanates from this first core layer of your aura, which is associated with the physical body. Its vibrancy indicates you have far fewer physical ailments than most, leaving you feeling strong and healthy. A bright Etheric layer indicates a positive connection to your body, which in turn provides the optimal vehicle for your spirit to express itself and for you to gain knowledge and insight.

Heal Your Aura with Color
When the colors of your aura are faded, you experience this as emotional or physical distress or even illness. To keep your aura strong and bring in the qualities you need in your life, you can easily and quickly try these various color therapies:

  1. Hang pieces of colored cloth or paper.
  2. Wear colored cloths.
  3. Wear gemstones in the color you need.
  4. Fill a colored glass with water, place it in the window for several hours, and then drink this water.
  5. Sit in a stream of colored light for 30 minutes a day for several days (using a colored light bulb or shining light through a colored transparency).

You can close your eyes and sense which color you might be needing, or you can use this condensed chart to determine which colors your aura needs:

Color Use for
Yellow Stimulates the mind; energizes muscles; combats depression; creates lust for life.
Orange Healthy lungs; good digestion; increases thyroid; heightens insight; stimulates creativity and enthusiasm.
Red Brings warmth and energy; energizes the heart, organs, and circulation; increases sexual desire. (Note: Never use for cancer treatment, as red stimulates cell growth.)
Magenta Strengthens your sense of life’s purpose.
Pink Heals grief and sadness; connects you to your emotions.
Green Provides emotional and mental harmony and balance; heals kidneys, heart, and hormonal imbalances; harmonizes digestive tract; brings peace.
Blue Reduces inflammation; relieves headaches; calms strong emotions; brings tranquility.
Purple Heals melancholy; encourages spiritual insight and renewal; brings sleep; soothes stress; detoxifies the spirit.
The Second, or Emotional Layer, is Orange
The Emotional layer of your aura is bright. This second layer of your aura surrounds your physical body most closely, and its vibrancy provides you with exceptional abilities to use your feelings as your mental, physical, and spiritual guides. You’re more likely to use your feelings than reason to make decisions on a daily basis, and your deep emotional connection helps you to stay in touch with your intrinsic human value.

Take Action
Guide Your Aura with Positive Intentions
It’s not just what you do that matters, it’s what you mean to do. When you intentionally set your mind to feel positively and do good in the world, your aura will immediately begin to gather energy and become brighter. Here’s how to guide your aura by instilling positive intentions:

  1. Choose an area of your life that is causing you emotional discomfort. This could be a relationship in which you’re unhappy with your own behavior, or a situation you need inner guidance with, or a pattern of behavior that you use to avoid your true emotions.
  2. Sit in a quiet space and close your eyes.
  3. Focus on your breathing, and with each breath draw in a feeling of calm and strength.
  4. Allow your mind to go to the issue at hand, and consider how you’d rather behave.
  5. Now think to yourself, “I’m setting my intentions to….” and fill in the rest of the sentence. For example, if you find yourself needing to smoke or have a drink when things get tough, you might think, “I’m setting my intentions to take an easy walk each time I’m confronted with difficult emotions.”

Give yourself the power and permission to respect your intentions. Doing so will bring positive energy and light into your aura.

The Third, or Mental Layer, is Yellow
The Mental layer of your aura is medium bright. This is the third layer out from the core of your aura, and its soft glow allows you to occasionally engage in logical concrete thinking, though other times you may find this type of thinking more challenging. While you are sometimes open-minded, you can also find yourself having a negative attitude, which makes it harder to take risks and try new things. To brighten the Mental layer of your aura, try this Take Action.

Take Action
Strengthen Your Aura with Positive Thinking
Your energy follows your thoughts, and responds immediately to your positive intentions. Thus, one positive thought immediately creates positive energy, which in turn strengthens your aura. A regular practice of positive thinking can lead to a bright and expansive aura. Here are some positive thoughts that you can use — whether in difficult moments, in response to persistent negative thoughts, or simply as a regular practice — to enhance your aura:

  1. I deeply and profoundly love and accept myself.
  2. I can do this.
  3. I am worthy of love and respect.
  4. Life is good.
  5. I’m a good person.

The secret to using positive thinking is to come up with sentences that don’t use conditional statements. For instance, instead of “Life would be good if I could just get that promotion,” your aura would be better served by thinking, “Life is good,” and “I can get that promotion.”

The Fourth, or Intuitional Layer, is Green
The Intuitional layer of your aura is bright. The light emanating from this forth layer of your aura provides you with extraordinary abilities to engage in abstract thinking. It is likely that others come to you for your insight, as you have a refined intuitional sense and your gut instinct rarely leads you astray. Your intuition, when put to proper use, also helps you stay clear of dangerous and unhealthy situations.

Take Action
Expand Your Aura with Visualization
You can use your mind any time to strengthen your aura. You can visualize (in your mind’s eye) your aura expanding, or you can use this exercise to visualize with color:

  1. Choose a color, either one that you feel drawn to, or one from the color chart provided earlier in this report.
  2. Close your eyes, and visualize colored light streaming into your body through the top of your head, letting it fill you and surround you.
  3. Imagine that you’re breathing in that color. If you choose, you can direct the colored breath to the areas of your body that need it most.
The Fifth, or Atmic Layer, is Blue
The Atmic layer of your aura is bright. This gives you an exceptionally strong will. You are also very charismatic which draws others to you. You’re persistent in your pursuits, and because of this you likely feel that your life is headed in the right direction.

Take Action
Protect Your Aura From Outside Energy
Have you ever met someone new and instantly liked or disliked them? You may feel like some people have “good vibes,” while others may have “bad vibes.” You feel this way because you’re sensing someone’s aura, or energy. Whenever you come into contact with someone, but especially when you share physical contact, such as a casual touch, a sexual encounter, or body work, your auric fields actually interact. When someone has good vibes, this can enhance your own aura, giving you a good feeling or burst of energy. But you also have to protect your aura from those whose energy doesn’t enhance yours. Whenever you’re going into a new or troubling situation, or a situation that involves someone whom you know can interfere with your own positive energy, you can prepare yourself with these simple steps:

  1. Imagine that there’s a clear bubble surrounding you. You can see out of the bubble, others can see in, but the bubble is only semi-permeable.
  2. When others send negative energy your way, or you simply feel like you’re absorbing their stress, mentally close the bubble and don’t let their energy in.
  3. If you sense that it’s safe and desirable to take in some of that person’s energy, you can open up that bubble and allow their energy in and yours out.
  4. If at anytime you’re in a truly toxic, abusive, or dangerous situation, you can also blacken your bubble, allowing nothing in and nothing out.
The Sixth, or Monadic Layer, is Violet
The Monadic layer of your aura is bright. The vibrancy of this sixth layer of your aura provides you with a profound sense of peace and purity, which radiates from your aura. You see your purpose clearly, and that has allowed you to make excellent choices in many areas of your life. As long as you’re on the path to fulfilling your life’s purpose, you’ll enjoy a serenity that nourishes your mind, body, and soul.

Take Action
Maintain Your Aura through Regular Maintenance
Just like brushing your teeth everyday, your energy body also needs regular care. One way to maintain your aura is to make sure you stay grounded. While it may seem counterintuitive, being grounded, or rooted to the earth, actually makes it easier and healthier for you to access your spiritual self.

  1. Pick a time each day when you’ll ground yourself. An ideal time is in the morning, just as you’re getting out of bed.
  2. Close your eyes and imagine that roots are growing from your feet and the base of your spine directly into the earth.
  3. Once you feel firmly connected to the earth, imagine a golden light streaming into the top of your head and flowing through your body, into the roots, and then into the ground.
  4. Inhale and then exhale deeply, opening your eyes and going about your day. You can also use this exercise whenever you feel thrown off your center.
The Seventh, or Divine Layer, is White
The Divine layer of your aura is bright. The vibrancy of this outermost layer of your aura bestows you with an exceptional love for life, which stems directly from your deep connection to the universe. You’re an open channel for the cosmos, and this infuses your aura with a divine energy. You feel nourished by your connection to that which is greater than you.

Take Action
Enhance Your Aura with Prayer or Meditation
Connecting to the collective energies in the universe can be a great source of strength and serenity. Praying regularly or engaging in a daily meditation practice can infuse your aura with light and energy, providing you with a great love of life. Here’s one meditation you might try:

  1. Set aside at least ten minutes where you can sit in uninterrupted silence.
  2. Begin by closing your eyes and focusing on your breathing.
  3. With each inhale, feel yourself breathing in the collective love of the universe.
  4. With each exhale, feel yourself returning your own love to the collective cosmos.
  5. Continue for five to ten minutes, imagining your breathing as a constant cycle of rejuvenation and flowing love.

Auras Revealed

All living things have auras, from the tiniest amoebas to the largest elephants. Auras are an electromagnetic, bio-energy field that surrounds and animates your physical body. Another way to think of your aura is as your life force or spiritual field. And the greater and stronger your life force or energy is, the brighter your aura will be. The vibrancy of your aura reflects all that’s crucial to who you are — your physical health, emotional well-being, personality, and mental activity.

The aura is a three-dimensional, egg-shaped energy field made up of seven overlapping layers. Each layer has a different vibration or frequency, which creates different colors and patterns in the aura. While simplified explanations of auras discuss them as having one solid and steady color, auras actually have multiple colors that change all the time.

When you are stressed, traumatized by accidents or abuse, or scared, your aura can become thinned, with dark spots or holes, which can cause emotional or physical distress or illness. Healing and strengthening your aura can revitalize your mind, body, and spirit. A healthy aura extends further out from your body, indicating that you have powerful and plentiful energy.

Chakras are conductors for energy to move through the aura, as well as the vehicle through which the aura communicates with the physical body. The health and functioning of your chakras directly impacts your aura. To discover how well energy is flowing through each of your seven chakras, take Tickle’s Chakra Test now!

How to see auras

You probably sense people’s aura, or energy, a good deal of the time. When they walk into a room, without saying a word you may sense if they’re upset, at peace, centered, in chaos, rushed, or distracted. Being able to sense other people’s energy is the first step to seeing someone’s aura. To practice this skill, try this exercise:

  1. Have a friend sit across from you, and close your eyes.
  2. Have your friend remember a time when he or she felt a strong emotion, but don’t have them tell you what they’re thinking or feeling.
  3. Breathe in and imagine a line of light connecting your forehead to your friend’s forehead.
  4. Ask yourself what colors your friend’s aura is, and see if you can imagine it in your mind’s eye. See if you can sense what they’re thinking or feeling.
  5. Open your eyes, and report the colors and emotions you were sensing.

With practice, you should improve your ability to sense someone’s aura. Then you’ll be ready to move on to seeing your own aura. Here are some tips on how to do that:

  1. Practice in the daylight, when it’s easier to see auras.
  2. Stand in front of a mirror in a bright room, with a neutral-colored wall behind you.
  3. Relax your eyes and let them stray a little out of focus.
  4. Gently sway from side to side.
  5. Staring at the outline of your head and shoulders, you should soon be able to see a soft light surrounding you. That’s your aura!

History behind the Aura Reading

For thousands of years, various cultures have depicted their figureheads and gods with aura-like halos. You can find this in ancient artistic renderings created by Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Greeks, and Romans.

Nikola Tesla, best known for harnessing AC electrical current in his work with Thomas Edison, is credited with taking the first photograph of an aura in the 1890s. In the 1950s, Russian scientist Semyon Davidovich Kirlian was conducting experiments in electricity, when he discovered that by measuring the temperature level in your fingertips, you could photograph the patterns made by high-frequency electrical impulses. As the aura is electromagnetic, he unwittingly developed an “aura camera.” While he wasn’t looking to capture photographic evidence of auras, and his company doesn’t claim to endorse the validity of auras, his Kirlian cameras are sold for approximately $10,000, mainly to psychics and others looking to take pictures of people’s auras at psychic and holistic fairs. While still highly controversial in medical fields, some doctors are starting to use this technology to help with the detection of diseases, including cancer.

Tickle developed the Aura test after extensively researching the intricacies of the auric layers and coupling this information with a large-scale survey measuring the characteristics of each of the seven layers. From there, researchers found that individuals’ mental, physical, and spiritual well being corresponded directly to the brightness of their auric layers. Using this information, Tickle developed the aura reading, which gives each test taker a personalized report about the state of each of the layers of their aura, along with common techniques used to enhance those layers.

Your Chakras Reading

Izzad, you are radiating positive energy from your:

Sixth Chakra

This chakra is located in the center of your forehead and is often called the third eye. The sixth chakra represents one’s ability to see and really know truth. In your case, this chakra appears to be clear and unblocked so that positive energy can flow from it freely. Radiating positive energy from your sixth chakra indicates that you’ve cultivated higher wisdom concerning the important life lessons associated with this energy center. You’re apt to be accepting of the people and events in your life, rather than pass judgment on them. You’re also likely to have developed a higher level of intuition than most people have.

People like you who possess strong sixth chakra energy seem to be able to look past superficialities to see life’s core realities. Not only that, but when a situation is murky, you’re usually one to actively seek out the truth. At times, this positive flow of energy from your sixth chakra can even heighten your psychic powers, helping you to know the unknowable.

Generally, you have a higher mind about you that allows you to be more objective than many people are. So whereas others might tend to take feedback personally, you’re typically able to step back and evaluate comments more dispassionately. If a criticism applies to you, you’ll take it for what it is. You’ll also try to make changes where they’re warranted. However, if a comment is unhelpful, you’ll usually discard it. By not feeling threatened or personally accused by others’ beliefs, you ordinarily manage to spare yourself the wounding that most people inflict upon themselves. This positive, self-affirming energy is sure to serve you well.

At the same time this positive energy is being conveyed, you are showing signs of an energy disruption in your Second Chakra. This blockage could be due to life circumstances in which you never had quite enough of something that was vital to you, whether it was love, money, attention, or even basic needs like food or shelter. Whether this was an actual lack or a perceived one, it likely left you believing that you would be much happier having more of whatever it was you were missing. Sometimes this situation occurs as a result of sibling rivalry when one sibling sees another get treated more favorably. If you were a less favored sibling, it can be difficult to get past the idea that a brother or sister may have had things easier or better than you did.

Alternately, this blockage in your second chakra could be due to some other long-standing belief that you possess, whether it is one you inherited from your family or arrived at on your own. Most beliefs that are damaging to the flow of your second chakra involve the concept of entitlement. In other words, perhaps you feel that by living a certain way or doing the “right” things, you assure that life will automatically give you back something in return. If you’ve experienced circumstances that don’t balance out this way, it can be easy to feel cheated and for your second chakra to become unbalanced.

Your seven chakras

The picture below depicts where each of the seven chakras is located in the human body. Note that some people believe the body has more than seven chakras. However, generally speaking, most believe in the seven energy centers illustrated here.

7th chakra [ level 8.6 ]
6th chakra [ level 9.9 ]
5th chakra [ level 8.2 ]
4th chakra [ level 8.4 ]
3rd chakra [ level 9.8 ]
2nd chakra [ level 3.4 ]
1st chakra [ level 6.6 ]

The First Chakra

First Chakra

[ level 6.6 ]

The first chakra or root or base chakra is located at the base of the spine. This is a source of great energy and is the first of the seven chakras in terms of where it is located on your body. Here it is depicted in the body:

Your first chakra is associated with your connection to a tribal force and your sense of belonging in the world. It symbolizes the physical plane of existence — both the earth and your physical body. This being true, it’s not surprising that the first chakra is known to be the source of self-preservation and survival. When this first chakra energy is disrupted, you may be more liable to feel alone in the world, be afraid for your safety, and feel disconnected from other people. You’re also likely to feel ungrounded, lacking a strong connection to the earth or your body. Energetically, when the first chakra is disrupted you can feel you have no real “roots.”

Your first chakra is a level 6.6 out of 10. This means that right now you seem to feel a certain pressure related to the struggle to survive, yet you’re not entirely driven by this concern. On the contrary, you’re likely able to put issues surrounding your safety and security in perspective most of the time. However, it still appears that the energy in this first chakra is having a negative impact on you at times. This is an area you may want to work on.

These are some common themes associated with problems in the first chakra:

  • Believing that you’re holding onto life by a string, like your life is about to fall apart
  • Feeling that you are in a powerless position
  • Working diligently to ensure you do not lose shelter, money, or safety
  • Extreme blame or lack of identification with your family of origin
  • Fear that you will be rejected and completely alone
  • Eating for comfort and to ground the body

Disruption in this chakra is also sometimes associated with separation from the mother at birth.

In its ideal state, the first chakra brings health, prosperity, feelings of security, and a vivacious attitude toward life. However, when energy is blocked, it may result in any number of illnesses. Blocked energy in the first chakra is most often associated with problems in the:

  • Colon
  • Bladder
  • Female or male reproductive system
  • Urethra

Possible psychological problems associated with disruption in this chakra include:

  • Identity problems
  • Dissociative disorders
  • Dependent personality disorder

The Second Chakra

Second Chakra

[ level 3.4 ]

The second chakra is associated with the element of water. It is often called the sexual chakra, because sexual energy is believed to originate there. But the second chakra is much more than simply a sex chakra; it is the seat of creativity. This chakra is located at the sacrum, which is the densest bone in the spinal column. Here it is depicted visually:

When the second chakra is closed or blocked, it can make the entire person appear lifeless. A blocked second chakra can cut you off from your emotions, and you may feel removed from an interest in sexuality. On the other hand, if your second chakra is excessively open, emotions can sometimes rule your being, creating an unbalanced system overall.

Your second chakra is a level 3.4 out of 10. This means that at present, you may have minor struggles with envy and greed, but generally you aren’t governed by these issues. For the most part, your second chakra energy is balanced and flowing. However, at certain moments, you may feel challenges associated with this area flare up, becoming disruptive to your energetic system. This is something you can address and improve.

Some common themes associated with problems in the second chakra are:

  • Difficulty being a “good loser”
  • Threatened by dependency on others
  • Envy and greed dominate thinking
  • Feelings of entitlement that don’t necessarily correspond with actual deserved rewards
  • Difficulty regulating emotions — either having no access to them or feeling overwhelmed by them
  • Taking on exaggerated male or female roles
  • Fear of poverty

In its ideal state, the second chakra brings a sense of fluidity, a depth of satisfaction and feeling, sexual fulfillment, and the ability to go with the flow of life. Blocked energy in the second chakra is often associated with problems in the:

  • Kidneys
  • Lower back
  • Pancreas
  • Spleen
  • Prostate gland

It is also associated with:

  • Allergies
  • Diabetes
  • Diarrhea
  • Ulcers
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Anemia
  • Leukemia
  • Premenstrual syndrome
  • Sexually transmitted diseases
  • Menstrual problems
  • Infertility
  • Vaginal infections
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Impotency
  • Slipped disks
  • Bladder infections

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

  • Depression
  • Sexual difficulties
  • Borderline, narcissistic, antisocial, or histrionic personality disorders

The Third Chakra

Third Chakra

[ level 9.8 ]

The third chakra is associated with the element of fire. Appropriately, it is located at the solar plexus in the sternum. Here it is depicted in the body:

The third chakra is associated with personal power. People who are empowered have high positive energy emanating from their third chakras. Knowing that you can move things forward in your life to order to learn, grow, and live well is closely related to having a clear third chakra. Individual charisma is also generated in this energetic region. Conversely, people who don’t trust their own perceptions or feel confident in their own decisions may experience disruptions in this chakra.

When the third chakra is closed or blocked, it can lead to a lack of energy, fatigue, and a yearning to be quiet and shut down. During times when this chakra is blocked, confrontations with others can be very hard to initiate or even tolerate. Blockage can also lead to problems building and sustaining interpersonal relationships based on equality.

Your third chakra is a level 9.8 out of 10. This means that at this point you are highly empowered to take life on and move forward with a strong confidence backing you up each step of the way.

Here are some common themes associated with problems in the third chakra:

  • Inability to stand up for yourself
  • Low self-esteem
  • Feeling unable to make necessary life changes or to get unstuck if in a life rut
  • Feeling easily overwhelmed by real or perceived obstacles in life
  • Being overly self-critical
  • Being highly sensitive to others’ criticisms or rejection
  • Preferring to not make your own decisions
  • Having trouble receiving compliments
  • Difficulties building respectful relationships with others
  • Being easily intimidated
  • Feeling like a victim
  • Being resentful about having to take responsibility for others

In its ideal state, the third chakra generates a great deal of energy for meeting personal goals. It also encourages a balanced sense of self, deep self-acceptance, and self-respect. These positive feelings carry over to one’s relationships with other people. Blocked energy in the third chakra has been associated with problems in the:

  • Adrenal glands
  • Liver
  • Stomach

It is also associated with:

  • Digestive difficulties
  • Ulcers
  • Addictions, especially to stimulants
  • Arthritis
  • Eating disorders
  • Cancer
  • Coordination problems
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Obesity
  • Premature aging
  • Gallstones
  • Pancreatic disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Hepatitis
  • Indigestion

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Uncontrollable or overwhelming anger
  • Bipolar disorder or more mild but still extreme highs and lows in mood
  • Insomnia

The Fourth Chakra

Fourth Chakra

[ level 8.4 ]

The fourth chakra is associated with the element of air and is sometimes called the heart chakra. This is due both to its location near the heart and because of the emotions with which it is associated. Here it is depicted in the body:

The fourth chakra is associated with a gradual increasing of consciousness, as it sits between the lower three and upper three chakras. However, primarily, it is the center of unconditional love. When a person becomes disconnected from their heart and the emotions associated with this region, the fourth chakra becomes closed off. This often results in both low energy and shallow breathing. At times when you’re feeling a fourth chakra blockage, you might even feel that it’s difficult to breathe.

Emotionally, when this chakra is blocked, you’re likely to feel wounded or victimized. Often this will be due to trying to work out past problems. People who have studied chakras liken this kind of chakra disruption to a hurt child inside of us, hashing out scenes over and over, trying to get closure on difficult events. If this kind of inner turmoil happens on an ongoing basis without relief, the overall effect can be a feeling of being stuck in the past. When the energy from the fourth chakra is disrupted, you may have trouble protecting yourself from emotional harm because you generally feel raw and emotionally vulnerable.

When the fourth chakra is open and energy is flowing positively, far different feelings result. For example, you are likely to feel open, loving, and compassionate to those around you and to be very accepting of people for who they are.

Your fourth chakra is a level 8.4 out of 10. This means that right now, you appear to be the epitome of embodied compassion. As a result, you likely feel an unconditional acceptance of most people with whom you come in contact. You’re also much more able than most people are to make your heart open and available to others. This is sure to engender not only positivity in your fourth chakra but also positivity in your life.

These are some common themes associated with problems in the fourth chakra:

  • Feeling stuck and wounded by events from the past
  • Being unable to forgive someone and holding on to the anger you have toward them
  • Fear of breaking down emotionally
  • Being too emotionally vulnerable
  • Feeling unloved or unworthy of love
  • Feeling shamed by being rejected
  • Being resentful of others for the love they receive
  • Extreme loneliness
  • Fear of showing affection

In its ideal state, the fourth chakra will radiate love and warmth. It will help also help you feel a strong, centered connection with yourself, so that you can reach out to others with compassion and a lack of judgment. This chakra also helps you to come to new levels of self-discovery. Disrupted energy in the fourth chakra has been tied to problems in the:

  • Heart
  • Thymus
  • Upper back
  • Lung
  • Shoulders

It is also associated with:

  • Vascular difficulties
  • High blood pressure
  • Autoimmunity problems
  • Heart attacks
  • Enlarged heart
  • Blocked arteries
  • Asthma
  • Emphysema
  • Bronchitis
  • Poor circulation

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

  • Self-destructive behaviors
  • Suicidal ideology or acts
  • Trouble emotionally connecting with others
  • Feeling alienated from others and in opposition to yourself

The Fifth Chakra

Fifth Chakra

[ level 8.2 ]

The fifth chakra is associated with acts of communication, including speaking the truth or finding creative ways for self-expression. It is located at the base of the throat and is often called the throat chakra. Here is an illustration:

This chakra is associated with sound in general. The meaning of your own personal truth is central to this chakra. The more free-flowing the energy of this chakra, the more you are able to speak your truth without fearing the consequences — or at least without letting external forces stop you from doing it. When the throat chakra is too open, you may talk more than other people would like and may not listen closely enough.

On a different level, this chakra is also associated with personal will. When the chakra is very open, your will can be excessively strong; when it is closed, your will can seem nonexistent. However, at times when the fifth chakra is in balance, your will is aligned with divine will. During such periods, you’re likely to feel that things are going your way, rather than having to fight against the current in order to reach your goals.

When your fifth chakra is disrupted, personal truths can become harder to express. You may even become afraid to speak your opinions or feel unsure about what you might say. Issues of the will can also come to the fore during these negative times. For example, you may feel that when things go wrong, others are entirely to blame and when things go right, it’s solely your will that created the success. Such exaggerated and absolute thinking is often connected to disruptions in the fifth chakra.

Your fifth chakra is a level 8.2 out of 10. This means that at present, you’re not one who is afraid to speak the truth. In fact, you appear to be well aligned with your true self, and you aren’t hesitant to let the world see who you are. Self-expression and skilled communication likely come very naturally to you right now.

Some common themes associated with problems in the fifth chakra are:

  • Fear of public speaking
  • Fear of letting go
  • Feelings of inner rigidity
  • Fear of exposure
  • Dishonesty to cover the feared truth
  • Inability to say what you mean

In its ideal state, the fifth chakra gives you the energy and centering you need to speak the truth. It also helps you to make unique contributions to the world by unleashing creative, self-expressive energy. Blocked energy in the fifth chakra is sometimes associated with problems in the:

  • Ear
  • Lymphatic system
  • Mouth and teeth
  • Neck and shoulders
  • Throat
  • Jaw

It is also associated with:

  • Hearing difficulties
  • Parathyroid complications
  • Thyroid problems
  • Sore throat
  • Jaw misalignment
  • Stiff neck
  • Tension headaches
  • Swollen glands

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

  • Stuttering
  • Poor auditory memory
  • Inability to use words for adequate self-expression
  • Addiction to drugs
  • Cigarette smoking
  • Alcohol overuse

The Sixth Chakra

Sixth Chakra

[ level 9.9 ]

The sixth chakra is associated both with light and with psychic abilities. This chakra provides a source of inner knowing, as well as an objective reflection of how things are. By being focused on a commitment to the truth and flexibility of thought, people with clear sixth chakras usually have a sense of life’s realities that surpasses usual conscious barriers. For this reason, the sixth chakra is connected with higher levels of wisdom and a level disposition. It is located between the eyebrows. Here it is depicted in the body:

When this chakra is closed or blocked, you may have trouble seeing the big picture of events that are unfolding in your life. The truth of matters can be dwarfed in details, and you may become easily confused. At times like these, you can sometimes overlook the subtler forces in any situation because you’re so busy giving attention to literal details. You may also find that you have a tendency to judge people and events pretty harshly.

Your sixth chakra is a level 9.9 out of 10. This means that at this point in time, you generally see the grander scheme of life and have more perspective on difficult situations than most others do. Psychic powers are inherent in the chakra energy you are generating, making it valuable to pay attention to your intuition. You are the type of person others likely consider to be wise beyond your years.

Here are some common themes associated with problems in the sixth chakra:

  • Trouble putting things into perspective
  • Lack of strategic thinking; inability to see the forest for the trees
  • Inability to pick up on intuitive or psychic information
  • Being highly focused on concrete, linear thinking
  • Confusion and clouded thinking
  • Fear of self-examination and the unknown
  • Emotional denial
  • Insecurity over others’ skills
  • Being slow to learn from life experiences

It’s also interesting to note that when someone’s sixth chakra is too open, they can become so geared toward generalities and the big picture that they become unable to focus on a project’s details to complete it. Also, a very open sixth chakra can lead to receiving too much psychic information so that one is overwhelmed by it.

In its ideal state, the sixth chakra brings you insight and helps you see both the big picture of a situation and its important details. By providing perspective, this chakra helps balance and prioritize the issues of your daily life. It can also provide access to psychic information. On the other hand, blocked energy in the sixth chakra is associated with problems in the:

  • Face
  • Eyes
  • Central nervous system
  • Brain
  • Head
  • Sinuses
  • Pineal
  • Pituitary

It is also associated with:

  • Headaches
  • Cancer, especially brain tumors
  • Visual problems
  • Blindness
  • Deafness
  • Neurological disorders

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

  • Extreme confusion
  • Inability to focus
  • Either lack of intelligence or access to it
  • Being hooked on fantasy
  • Paranoia
  • Poor visual memory
  • Psychoses
  • Schizophrenia

The Seventh Chakra

Seventh Chakra

[ level 8.6 ]

The seventh chakra is associated with thought. It signifies our relationship to all things and the unity of everything. This chakra also symbolizes self-knowledge and spiritual consciousness. It is located at the crown of the head, but it is connected with the entire muscular system, the skeletal system, the skin, and nervous system. Here it is depicted in the body:

The seventh chakra is associated with a more profound spiritual connectedness than the other six chakras are. This chakra is the seat of higher wisdom and the energy that comes from it. The seventh chakra is thought to give access to the infinite intelligence that exists in the universe and is our key to opening the door to it. This chakra allows for self-expression on higher spiritual levels and is associated with the pineal gland, the gland that produces visions in dreams. When asking the question, “Who am I, really?” you are tapping into the energy of your seventh chakra.

When this chakra is closed or blocked, you can feel cut off from spirituality. At such times, your relationship with the divine becomes limited, and fears of the spiritual side of life can be magnified. Disruptions in your seventh chakra can also amount to the inability to gain closure on unfinished business. Such problems have the potential to end up as a real thorn in your side. Most of all, lack of flow in your seventh chakra leads to an inability to live in the present. People with blocked seventh chakra energy seem to always be either revisiting their past or looking ahead to the future.

Your seventh chakra is a level 8.6 out of 10. This means that by and large, you are able to live in the present. In fact, your connection to your spiritual self appears to be strong. Perhaps this is because you realize that your vision of life is only one reality and that a deeper truth lies in the spiritual world. As one with a high-level seventh chakra, you should realize that sometimes even positive energy related to this chakra can lead to spiritual crises; this is simply part of the path a more evolved person takes.

Some common themes associated with problems in the seventh chakra are:

  • Always focusing on the past or the future
  • Being continually unhappy with the present state of your life
  • Believing that life has no meaning
  • Feeling cut off from all things spiritual
  • Clinging to unfinished business from the past
  • Fearing true self-knowledge

In its ideal state, the seventh chakra brings a joy and a deep faith that everything happens for a reason. A person with pure, positive energy in their seventh chakra will feel harmony with everything and will be able to tap into the greater wisdom of the universe. Blocked energy in the seventh chakra has been associated with problems such as:

  • Brain tumors
  • Cancer
  • Epilepsy
  • Migraines
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Pituitary problems

Possible psychological problems associated with disruptions in this chakra include:

  • Multiple personalities
  • Nightmares
  • Memory problems

The seven bodies

As you’ve learned, chakras are sources of energy in your body, each corresponding to a different physical region. However, the physical body is not all you’re made of. In fact, many believe that there are seven layers of energy that make up your presence here on earth. Those layers are:

  • Physical body — This is the only body that can be viewed without clairvoyant abilities. It can be seen and felt. This is the densest of the seven bodies and is the one through which you most actively interact with the world.
  • Emotional body — This is the entity you use to both express and feel emotions, including the feeling of divine love.
  • Mental body — This body corresponds to the source of your thinking and reasoning. Abstract thinking, creativity, logical reasoning, and philosophy are housed here.
  • Intuitional/compassionate body — This is the source of compassion and is a vehicle for expressing higher forms of love. This body is beyond the restrictions of time and space. It allows you to understand things without having to reason through them first.
  • Will/Spirit body — This body is the vehicle for your spirit to express itself. This is essentially your spiritual will. It carries both the potentials for great positivity and great negativity. It influences how you make decisions.
  • Soul body — This is a more abstract body, not subject to the normal restrictions of humanness; it can provide guidance for the person from a soul level.
  • Divine body — This is the highest of the seven bodies. It is where your connection to the divine lies. The divine body provides us with the means to feel the presence of a higher power in ourselves and to feel oneness with all things.

Each of your seven chakras affects and is affected by these bodies. Interactions can be complex because each of the chakras has a specific location on each of the seven bodies. The book Kundalini and the Chakras discusses each of the chakras on the different bodies and gives information about how each chakra-body combination affects you. More information about these combinations can also be found in The Book of Chakras: Discover the Hidden Forces within You.

Balancing your chakras

When your chakras are balanced, they are neither too open nor blocked. With practice, you can learn to willingly open or close your chakras, depending on events and how you want to feel. This section gives suggestions on how to:

  • Change your chakra state to make it relatively more closed or open
  • Clear chakra blockages
  • Pursue activities that will help your chakras

Note that some people believe working with the chakras can be dangerous and should only be done carefully once you become well informed about the powers of Kundalini energy. Kundalini energy is a powerful energy that is coiled at the base of the spine when dormant. However, when roused — by doing these exercises, for example — you may have an excess of energy to manage. With that caution in mind, consider taking small steps toward changing your chakras. Keep an eye on how you physically and mentally respond to the process.

To be most cautious, start at the top of your head and move downward when you’re doing exercises or focusing on chakras. This is a good idea because your Kundalini energy is located around the root chakra. By focusing on your root or first chakra last, you’ll have cleared the upper chakras and will be more able to handle the Kundalini energy released from your first chakra.

Changing chakra states
As has been mentioned throughout this report, when your chakras are too open or too blocked, problems can occur. For example, if your fourth chakra is very open and you’re going into a classroom to take an exam, you might find yourself distracted from the task at hand. Instead, in a testing situation, you might consciously want to focus on opening your sixth chakra. This can help you increase the clarity of your mind. To follow are five steps to help you change the state of any of your seven chakras:

Step 1: Locate the area of the chakra you want to work with. Sense the chakra’s energy as it is right now.

Step 2: Place your hand in that area of your body. Pay close attention to the physical sensations in that area.

Step 3: Visualize the energy around your chakra. What color is it? How large an area does it cover? Is it radiating out, pulling energy in, or feeling disjointed or free-flowing?

Step 4: Now visualize how you want it to be. When chakras are functioning optimally they will have circular energy, like a “wheel of light,” which is the Sanskrit meaning for the word chakra. You may want to start simply by visualizing the area of the chakra energy as bigger or smaller than it is.

Step 5: Next, try visualizing your chakra in other ways. See it bigger or smaller, flowing in or flowing out. Practice with how these things feel. Then you can use your reactions as a guide to determine the best state for your chakra given the feelings you’re trying to achieve.

Clearing chakra blockages
There are many ways to clear your chakras. Some healers can clear blockages using their hands or through their mental or spiritual powers. However, you don’t have to seek out professional help in order to clear your chakras. You can clear blockages yourself by visualizing flowing energy out of the chakra that is blocked, thereby dissolving whatever is in the way of its optimal functioning.

Another way to clear chakras is to visualize light coming through your body. Lay down on the floor with your spine as straight and unstrained as possible and imagine a sheet of light that is very across your whole body. Starting at the top of your head, visualize this sheet of light moving slowly through the regions of your body. Imagine that this light is breaking up negative energy in your body and preparing it for removal.

Once you’ve covered your whole body and reached your feet, you’re ready to remove the debris that this exercise produced. Starting at the floor, imagine another layer of light that is specifically designed to absorb negative particles. Move this long sheet of light from the floor, rising upward until it has cleared your whole body. Each time it encounters negative energy particles that were loosened by the previous step, it carries it out of the body. Once that particle is outside of the body, the sheet absorbs this negative energy.

Pursuing activities that will help your chakras
There are many types of exercises that can help your chakras. In fact, a wide variety of physical exercise will help to move your energy around. However, some muscle-building exercise can tend to clump energy in particular places. If you’re looking to clear chakra energy, consider trying yoga, tai chi, or qigong. All of these practices help to release energy from your body and get your chakra energy flowing freely again.

Another type of movement that can help to keep your chakras balanced and flowing is free-form dancing. You may need to do this movement in private, but either way you should find the time and space to listen to an uplifting song, or something that resonates deep within you, and let your body move as it will to the music. Do not think about how it will look to someone else on the outside. Instead, focus on how your body feels and focus on truly expressing what you are feeling, throughout all seven bodies. Such creative expression is beneficial to all seven of your chakras.

History behind the test

The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and is meant to mean a disk of light. This term has also come to describe the seven power centers of the human body. It’s believed that chakras are reflective of a person’s psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being, as well as being tied to the physical health of particular areas of the body. It’s been said that chakras carry and direct energy flow in the body. As a result, some people feel that blocked energy in one’s chakras can create serious health problems, ranging from cancer to sexual dysfunction to heart problems. Disruptions in the chakra energy have also been associated with various mental disorders.

Historical data indicates that healers have worked with chakras and the body’s energy systems for thousands of years. It is from those practitioners and people who have experienced benefits first hand that chakras’ validity continues to be accepted. Chakra work, when one unblocks the flow of energy from particular chakras, came into being long before people had statistical methods to evaluate claims about its effectiveness. However, the continued popularity of this healing tool stands as testimony to its usefulness.

To turn the study of individuals’ chakras into something measurable and testable, Tickle’s research team created an extensive survey to gain information from thousands of Tickle members. Survey themes included a broad variety of questions, each associated with one of the seven chakras. After distilling survey information, Tickle psychologists created the Chakra Test using the questions found to most reliably assess the seven energy centers. Each of the Chakra Test’s dimensions was created to determine which of an individual’s chakras are in balance and which may need attention. By comparing test takers with one another, Tickle’s testing method is able to spot markedly high or low disruption in any one of an individual’s chakras. We hope you find this to be a useful tool for your own self exploration.
